Our Research:
This
research will attract a diverse audience both inside and outside
the academic community, and we will disseminate our results
accordingly. First and foremost, we are writing a book entitled
The DEW Line: A Spatial History. This book will be a significant
landmark in the history and geography of Canada, Arctic studies,
Cold War history, political geography, native studies, and
environmental studies.
In
addition to several articles on the DEW Line and the Cold
War Arctic, we will disseminate our research findings through
regular presentations at Canadian and American academic conferences
in history, geography, and other appropriate fields. We will
also ensure that results are available to Northern communities,
the policy community, and a popular audience. Alongside the
personal ‘Dewliner’ sites already online (click
on the Links button for a list), this site will serve as a
general hub for contacts, photographs, and documents.
